Ernst Riehle joined Agora Verkehrswende in June 2021. As Project Manager for International Cooperation he heads up our contribution to the NDC Transport Initiative Asia, among other international projects.
From 2014 to 2020 Ernst worked to advance sustainable transport in Namibia on behalf of the German development association GIZ. In particular, he advised the Namibian Transport Ministry and other stakeholders on sustainable transport development, and also facilitated academic cooperation between universities in the area of civil engineering. Prior to joining GIZ, he worked as an urban transport planner in Germany.
Ernst obtained his B.Sc. in Geography from LMU Munich and M.Sc. in Spatial Planning from Dortmund Technical University. His primary areas of expertise are urban development, urban and rural mobility, non-motorized transport, road safety and logistics.
