Tax policy can influence how people use cars, though not always in ways that fight global warming. If Germany is to reach its climate targets, policymakers must change how vehicle ownership and vehicle use are taxed. This project analyses car taxation policies in selected European countries and identifies important lessons for consideration in German policy discussions.
