Johanna Wietschel joined Agora Verkehrswende in May 2022. As an expert in transport economics, she analyses the costs and distributional effects of policy measures; develops proposals for the socially equitable transformation of mobility; and explores financing options for exnovation and innovation in the transport sector.
Previously, Johanna Wietschel worked at the ‘Green and Sustainable Finance Cluster Germany’, where she helped to establish sustainable structures in financial markets. Her research focused on how banks can align their portfolios and companies can align their business models with the Paris climate goals, including in the energy and automotive sectors. During her studies, Johanna Wietschel worked as a researcher in the field of climate policy at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW). She received her M.Sc. in Economics from Freie Universität Berlin.
